My name is Moira Nicol from Howick in the beautiful Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal.
I started making jewellery and realised that working with colours and shapes took me to my “happy place”. I fell in love with designing pieces of jewellery that I loved (costume jewellery, pearls and scarves), suitable for everyday or special occasions.
Some friends and myself started the Gifts @ Wear Shopping-Through-The-Home Market in 2015. We decided to ask Sunfield Home, Howick, if we could support them in any way and that’s how we got involved with these lovely people. The public kindly donate their unwanted “Nearly New” clothing which we sell for funds. FOSHIM – volunteers who raise funds for Sunfield – are saving to buy a specially equipped vehicle that will enable the wheelchair-bound residents to go on outings which they otherwise wouldn’t be able to. The Sunfield Occupational Therapy department also sell handmade products at our Market.
Our home in Howick gets turned into a shop on the last Friday and Saturday of every month where local crafters display their high quality products in the house and on the lawn. We have credit card and Zapper facility available for ease of paying, and complimentary tea/coffee in the garden. A lovely unique place to bring friends and shop.
