Kirsty Kyle combines three of the things she is most passionate about – environmental education, writing and poodles – in her delightful story about Piffy and Zenzi, the fluffy poodles. Her dream is to write a series where the poodles learn about our diverse environment and the creatures that occupy it, in a fun, adventurous way.
In 2012 15-year-old South African school pupil Josh Crickmay, unable to cope with the demands of the classroom dropped out of school. Severely suicidal, Josh landed in hospital and was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome or High Functioning Autism. Certain that unless they did something radical, they would lose their only child, Josh’s parents quit their jobs and embarked on a quest to give Josh a reason to live and to function in life without a formal education. They did this by building on and kindling Josh’s interests in birding, photography and writing. For an entire year Josh and his parents traveled to every corner of Southern Africa and spent seven weeks in the Amazon and Andes.
Stephen Pryke’s interest in photography started at the age of 12 when he was given his first camera but it was only in 1996 that it became his full time career. He has always traveled with a camera and created numerous albums and collections of his pictures and, while he has done all sorts of photography, his passion is for nature and landscapes. Stephen lives in Hilton with his family and his work is displayed in local galleries and exhibitions.
